Your Impact Matters: ASC celebrates Inclusion Week

September 25, 2024

Little changes can make big impacts. This year, Aquaculture Stewardship Council celebrates our Inclusion Week with the theme ‘Impact Matters’ highlighting the role of diversity, inclusion and accessibility in making genuine, sustainable change in the workplace and beyond. Throughout the week, ASC prepared activities which are designed to engage employees and foster a more inclusive work environment.

The theme ‘Impact Matters’ seeks to reignite and energise the positive impact of inclusion. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the impact of actions and behaviours on marginalised groups and to promote sustainable change through an impact-driven mindset.

Kicking off the Inclusion Week, ASC Learning Designer Anais Niveau talked about digital accessibility, emphasising its importance for inclusivity and compliance with international standards. Anais said, “Digital accessibility is essential not only for people with disability, but it can also be very beneficial for everyone in the organisation. It allows everyone to have a better user experience, from creating descriptive hyperlinks, including video subtitles or improving the colour contrast of an infographic. These tiny details matter if we want to become more inclusive.”

ASC and its commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Through empowered collaboration, ASC acknowledges a diversity of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences to create positive impacts within the organisation. ASC has established a dedicated working team to promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within the organisation.

ASC is an official member of Inclusive Employers, a global organisation aimed at raising awareness of inclusion in the workplace. More information about the Inclusion Week and how to get involved is available via the Inclusive Employers website.
