MonitorASC Supplier Monitoring Tool

The Supplier Monitoring Tool allows ASC partners to voluntarily submit their antimicrobial laboratory test results for ASC products into a central database.
The aim of the tool is to collect and collate data about antimicrobial use to improve our knowledge, reduce risk to partners and consumers, and contribute towards ASC’s commitment to the World Health Organisation’s One Health approach to reducing antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
The aggregated results from other contributors and tests performed by ASC are shared with signed-up partners in the form of a report, usually at least once a year, with information on:
- species tested,
- countries of origin,
- the analytes detected and their concentrations in the case of positive tests.
Although submitters remain anonymous, the identity of farms and processors are disclosed if listed multiple times as supplier – both for positive and negative results. This allows participants to gain insights on trends in antibiotic detection across different countries, species, and suppliers and consider the data to help make more informed sourcing decisions. Since 2019 the tool has received nearly 200 partner submissions, mainly on shrimp but other species have also been recorded. ASC and Assurance partners (CABs and ASI) have tested an additional >300 samples.

In line with ASC’s commitment to robust assurance, and considering user feedback and evolving reporting needs, a new version of the tool has been developed as part of the MonitorASC toolkit to further strengthen the ASC Assurance Net. This will ensure better data collection and reporting.
