The Chain of Custody Standard
ASC uses the Marine Stewardship Council’s (MSC) Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard to verify the origin of seafood sold as ASC certified. This process benefits companies that handle both ASC and MSC certified seafood by allowing them to do a combined audit
ASC Chain of Custody certificate holders also need to meet the requirements of the additional ASC Chain of Custody Module (starting from 30 May 2023). The additional requirements address aspects inherent to farmed seafood production, such as food safety and antibiotic detection.
