Excitement mounts as Bremen Fish International show 2016 approaches

January 29, 2016

The ASC is set to serve up an exciting menu for visitors to the Fish International Seafood Show 2016, to be held 14-16 February in Bremen, Germany.

Held biennially, Fish International is the place to gather information on what’s new in the German market, with a focus on all aspects of the fish trade, counter-concepts for fishmongers across Germany and a focus on local produce. You can visit the ASC at stand 5 F-02- directly adjacent to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) booth in Hall 5- to learn more about the ASC programme.

This year we also have a very special event planned for the show. Together with the MSC, the ASC have invited seafood wholesalers, foodservice providers and restaurateurs to taste a variety of responsibly sourced food at Sustainability is Tasty: Responsible Diversity on Your Menu, a live cooking show.

The head chef of Fisherman’s Seafood, a MSC certified restaurant in Bremen, will prepare a range of dishes featuring ASC and MSC certified seafood on Monday 15 February, from 12:00 to 13:00 CET in the Messe Bremen Show Kitchen, Hall 5.

The cooking demonstration will showcase a variety of responsibility farmed fish species, and guests will be invited to try the delicious results. The event will be conducted in German, and conference attendees can receive free tickets to the cooking show by contacting Mrs Kunicki at berlin@msc.org.

In 2014, more than 8,000 visitors from fisheries management, retail and catering came to Fish International to network, share information, and discuss business practices. Around 230 exhibitors from 20 nations presented their products in the areas of fish production and processing, fresh fish and delicacies, as well as research and development.
