A Happy Sustainable Seafood Day in Hong Kong

For the second consecutive year, the Happy Sustainable Seafood Day campaign was held during the Christmas season in Hong Kong. The campaign, which aims to increase consumer awareness of sustainable seafood, was organised by KLG Fine Food Company Limited in collaboration with YATA Hong Kong.
This special event featured many different activities including cooking demonstrations by local chefs, photo promotions and giveaways in YATA Sha Tin, YATA Tuen Mun and YATA APM stores. ASC certified Pangasius, Vannamei and Tiger Prawn were featured in the cooking demonstrations and promoted to consumers.
“The emphasis of the event has been on consumer education,” said Bethany Yiu, KLG Marketing Executive. “We wanted to transmit that consuming sustainable seafood should not be a practice related to special occasions like Christmas, but a daily habit. We tried to pass this message to consumers with the slogan of the event, “Everyday is a Happy Sustainable Day”, and their reaction has been very positive”.
KLG Fine Food earned ASC certification in August 2014. The company has supplied ASC certified seafood to YATA since June 2015. KLG Fine Foods are committed to educating consumers on the concept of sustainability whilst providing premium, ethically sourced, certified seafood products around the globe.
